GitHub Enterprise Server 3.1 is now generally available

GitHub Enterprise Server 3.1 ships with workflow visibility and performance boosts

GitHub has made GitHub Enterprise Server 3.1 generally available to all customers. The release focuses on improving the developer experience around large, active repositories, with new tooling for workflow management and deployment efficiency.

Key additions in this version include:

• Workflow visualizations for GitHub Actions (#88): complex pipelines can now be tracked and diagnosed directly from the UI.
• Automerge for pull requests (#107): PRs are merged automatically as soon as all requirements are satisfied, cutting down on manual waiting and reruns.
• Repository performance optimizations (#108): targeted improvements for large, high-traffic repositories.

For organizations using GitHub Advanced Security, the release brings secret scanning to general availability (#106), alongside broader library and framework support for code scanning.
