Figma plants a flag in Bengaluru
Figma has opened a new office in Bengaluru, marking a deeper commitment to what it says is now its second-largest market by monthly active users. The company framed the move as a way to get closer to India’s designers and developers, who it says are pushing the platform in new directions.
The launch event on November 12, 2025 drew more than 7,000 registrants. During the event, Figma shared updates to its AI design tools along with fresh research into how AI is reshaping product development workflows in India.
The company also pointed to the scale of its local footprint: as of September 2025, more than 40% of companies in the Bombay Stock Exchange 100 (BSE100) use Figma, and its Friends of Figma community counts nearly 25,000 members across cities from Ahmedabad to Vadodara. Customers named in the announcement include Airtel, CARS24, Flipkart, Groww, Juspay, Myntra, Swiggy, TCS, and Zomato.
What the India survey shows
Figma commissioned research with YouGov that surveyed 730 professionals in design, engineering, and product leadership roles in India. The headline numbers point to AI’s rapid integration into the design-to-development pipeline:
- 93% of designers say their companies already use AI in design.
- 85% of designers agree that AI simplifies writing code.
- 81% of developers say design has become more important to the success of AI-powered products.

A larger global push
The Bengaluru office is part of a broader international expansion. As of Q1 2025, 85% of Figma users are based outside the United States, and roughly half of the company’s revenue in 2024 came from international markets. Figma has opened offices in New York, Tokyo, Singapore, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, and São Paulo in recent years, with Bengaluru now added to that list.
“As India evolves into a global software and manufacturing hub, the value of design will only grow,” said Scott Pugh, APAC Vice President of Sales at Figma. “We’ve seen increasing demand for modern design tools from Indian companies, and with the office opening, we want to get closer to our users and the community here.”
Figma also highlighted its recent acquisition of Weavy, a generative AI platform, along with design systems integrations in Figma Make announced at Schema 2025. The company says these additions help teams scale their work across the full platform.
