Figma Make reaches FedRAMP-authorized government environment

Figma has announced that Figma Make is now available in Figma for Government, giving federal teams access to its AI-powered prototyping tools within a FedRAMP Moderate–authorized environment. The move extends the design platform's government offering beyond static design work, allowing agencies to build interactive prototypes securely as they modernize citizen-facing services.

The timing aligns with renewed federal focus on digital service quality. A 2025 Executive Order on improving the nation through better design emphasized usability, accessibility, and design consistency across citizen-facing services. The impact of such work is measurable: the online passport renewal system launched in 2024, and by 2025 more than two million people had used it, with 97% reporting a positive experience and 80% saying it increased their trust in government.

Closing the prototyping gap

Public-sector digital projects face a particular set of challenges: aligning policymakers, technologists, and operations leaders while navigating evolving requirements and constrained design and development resources. Figma Make addresses one bottleneck directly—the leap from concept to testable prototype.

Previously, federally regulated teams were limited to trading static mockups, a process that could stretch over weeks. With Figma Make, those teams can move from concept to interactive prototype in hours. The tool operates inside the shared Figma workspace, so designers, policy leads, researchers, engineers, and IT staff can work together in real time, testing workflows and validating assumptions with citizens before development begins.

Compliance and availability

Figma for Government has received FedRAMP Moderate authorization, and while a portion of Figma's cloud infrastructure will reach full FedRAMP Moderate compliance in 2026, Make is fully usable today within the authorized environment.

Federal teams are already using Figma across a range of public services, from benefits and financial communications to space mission-support systems and education platforms. The National Park Service, for example, used Figma to bring 431 national parks into a single digital app, replacing paper-based processes. Figma Make adds an experimentation layer to this work, helping agencies explore more design options quickly and iterate with greater confidence as they push toward citizen-first services and improved internal agency tools.
