ServiceNow CEO Bill McDermott joins Figma’s board

Bill McDermott, Chairman and CEO of ServiceNow, has been appointed to Figma’s Board of Directors. The design platform announced the appointment on the heels of its IPO registration, positioning the move as support for its next phase of growth, particularly within large enterprise markets.

“Bill’s story is legendary—from operating a deli at 17, to selling Xerox machines to leading SAP and ServiceNow through incredible growth, his experience operating at scale is unmatched,” said Dylan Field, co-founder and CEO of Figma. “As we got to know each other, I especially appreciated his humility and authenticity in addition to his wisdom. We’re excited to learn from him.”

McDermott brings extensive experience scaling software businesses for enterprise customers. As CEO of ServiceNow, he has driven the company’s expansion as an AI platform for business transformation. Previously, as CEO of SAP, he focused on building global business ecosystems. Under his leadership, both ServiceNow and SAP saw their market capitalizations more than triple. Both companies are also existing Figma customers.

McDermott joins an existing board that includes Figma leadership and prominent venture investors. The full board (in alphabetical order) is:
