November turns gray across much of the world, which makes it a good moment for a splash of color on the desktop. The latest collection of wallpapers in this long-running monthly series — now more than 15 years old — comes from artists and designers worldwide, all offered free of charge in a range of screen resolutions. Each image can be clicked for a larger preview.

The series gives every contributor complete creative freedom: themes are chosen from scratch by the artists themselves, not dictated by the editors. If you would like your own work featured in a future post, submissions are open.

Facial Hair As Costume

Predrag Kovacev (Serbia) picks up where Halloween left off and trades vampire fangs for a month of uninhibited beard growth. By the third week, the piece jokes, you are no longer skipping the morning shave — you are auditioning for Cousin Itt in an Addams Family reboot. The itch, the dodged hairbrushes and the haunted-forest jawline are all part of the character cosplay extended across thirty days.

From Spooky To Scruffy

A Shadow Found In Parametric Curves

Philippe Brouard (France) arrived at his design while experimenting with parametric curves, when a gap in the drawing struck him as a bat shadow. The motif carries a conservation note as well: bats are protected animals, and not only around Halloween.

A Melancholy November: Lost In Time

November's transitional character — the corridor between autumn and real winter — shaped this wallpaper by Veronica Valenzuela of Spain. Her design leans on remembered warmth indoors and the distinctive moments the season brings, and she picks the classic Blade Runner line about moments lost in time, like tears in the rain.

The wallpaper is offered as a preview, then in two resolution sets:

  • with calendar: 640x480, 800x480, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1280x800, 1440x900, 1600x1200, 1920x1080, 1920x1440 and 2560x1440
  • without calendar: the same ten resolutions

Smashing Calendar Artwork For The December 1 Conference

The second option doubles as an announcement. The online AI 2027 Conference runs Dec 1, 2026, with tickets at €50. Its program centers on accessible, approachable speakers covering AI-ready design systems, AI-driven research and designing for trust in AI.

  • preview: a single lower-fidelity image to check fit
  • with calendar: 21 resolutions. Beyond the standard desktop range (640x480, 800x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864, 1280x720, 1280x800, 1280x960, 1280x1024, 1366x768, 1400x1050, 1440x900, 1600x1200, 1680x1050, 1680x1200, 1920x1080, 1920x1200, 1920x1440, 2560x1440) it adds a square 1024x1024 for social profiles and a 3840x2160 version for 4K panels
  • without calendar: the same 21 sizes, from 640x480 through 3840x2160

Two Takes on November Light

The next pair of wallpapers moves from quiet reflection to warmth. Both are rendered in soft tones, but they come from very different places — one a note of self-encouragement from India, the other a remembrance tradition from Lithuania.

Be Proud Of Yourself

Hitesh Puri, designing from Delhi, India, pairs this line with the artwork: “Be proud of yourself for how far you’ve come. You’ve handled things that once felt impossible.”

Candlelight November

Justas Arbatauskis, from Lithuania, draws on a local tradition: “In Lithuania, the first days of November belong to remembrance: families light candles on the graves of their loved ones and cemeteries across the country glow softly in the evening mist. I wanted a calm, warm wallpaper that turns your desktop into a small candle-lit corner, a quiet pause before the busy end of the year.”

November, By Way Of Serbia And Georgia

Four designers answer the grey month with color rather than camouflage. PopArt Studio, based in Serbia, calls its Colorful Autumn calendar an attempt to "summon better days" against the daily rain, with the studio's own invitation to "open your umbrella and let's roll."

Warmth Over Grey

Libra Fire's Falling Into November takes the opposite route: instead of pushing back against the season, it leans into it with "cozy colors, crisp leaves, and the gentle warmth that only November brings."

An Early Freeze

Ricardo Gimenes of Spain skips autumn altogether with Winter Is Here, leapfrogging to the colder half of the year and adding a 3840x2160 file for the trouble.

Letters That Grow

Typography rather than weather carries Vlad Gerasimov's contribution. Anbani is the Georgian word for alphabet, and the letters growing on the depicted tree are that alphabet — a script the designer flags as "very unique." It is also the widest release in the set, running up to 5120x2880.

Cosmic Conservation

PopArt Studio's Serbian team turned to both the natural world and the space beyond it for their calendar, pairing the two with an appeal to think about forests, migrating birds and whether a home might exist for us off-planet. Each design is offered with the calendar layout and without it, so you can choose the version that suits your setup.

Ricardo Gimenes: Bug

Spain's Ricardo Gimenes closes out this set with Bug, which stands out for its resolution range: alongside the usual sizes it includes a 3840x2160 variant for 4K displays.

Civil Aviation, Marked on December 7

International Civil Aviation Day falls on December 7, honoring the people who demonstrate that the sky truly is the limit. The design, by PopArt Studio of Serbia, frames civil aviation as both an engine of global connectivity and a vehicle of international understanding, a symbol of social and economic progress. The studio presents the calendar as a gesture of thanks to those who spend their working lives helping others reach their dreams.

Kindness as a Design Brief

The Kind Soul, from Color Mean Creative Studio in Dubai, takes its cue from a short manifesto: kindness drives humanity, so be kind, be humble, be humane, and be the best of yourself.

First Snow Under Moonlight

Jovana Djokic of Serbia captures the chill of late autumn: mountain peaks dusted with their first snow, glittering in the moonlight.

Autumn in Red

Evacomics, based in Singapore, supplies the seasonal counterpoint with Red Leaves. This set is available in a shorter run of resolutions than the others above.

From Halloween Bats to Autumn Mushrooms

Germany's Carmen Eisendle drew on a set of Halloween characters for Moonlight Bats, a family of bats hanging in moonlight; she describes the blend of cute and scary as a fit for autumn. Spain's Verónica Valenzuela offers Mushroom Season, inspired by rainy days and the forest foraging that follows.

A Japanese Autumn and a Stormy Sea

Valenzuela also submits Go To Japan, built around November as a good month to visit and the brown tones of the Japanese autumn. Tempestuous November comes from Ana Masnikosa of Belgrade, Serbia, who writes of Poseidon emerging from tinted clouds late in autumn, ahead of the sky clearing in time for coming snow.

Don't Let Gray Win

"Let's take extra care of colors during the autumn months. November might be gray and rainy. Outside. Don't let it inside. Take a good book, prepare a hot ginger tea, and cover your knees with a bright woolen plaid."
