Figma broadens its platform with new products for design, branding, and apps

San Francisco, May 7, 2025 — At its annual Config conference, Figma announced an expansion of its platform with four new products and a series of AI-enhanced features intended to streamline the path from initial concept to shipped software. The flagship event drew 8,500 attendees to San Francisco, with a follow-up Config London scheduled for May 14.

The new offerings extend Figma's reach beyond interface design into application building, website publishing, and brand asset production. Alongside these product launches, the company introduced upgrades to its core tools, including advanced image generation, contextual workflow suggestions, and new AI capabilities for FigJam.

New products target broader workflows

Figma's announcements span distinct roles within product development processes:

  • Figma Make: An AI-powered prompt-to-code tool that transforms written descriptions or existing designs into functional prototypes and applications, enabling users of varying skill levels to test ideas quickly.
  • Figma Sites: A product designed for building and publishing dynamic websites, featuring customizable interactions and modifications driven by code and AI.
  • Figma Draw: A new set of tools within Figma Design that provides enhanced vector editing and illustration capabilities for more expressive, high-craft design work.
  • Figma Buzz: A solution for brand and marketing teams to produce visual assets at scale, using built-in AI features while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Grid: A fresh option for creating responsive layouts that automatically adapt to design changes and generates CSS code for use in Dev Mode, easing the design-to-development handoff.

These launches extend Figma's existing product family, which includes Figma Design, FigJam, Dev Mode, and Figma Slides. The company notes that the full lineup of products and features will begin rolling out to users in the coming weeks.

Platform insights and global reach

Data shared alongside the announcements illustrates the platform's expanding user base. During Q4 2024, approximately two-thirds of Figma's monthly active users identified as working beyond traditional design roles, with about 30% self-identifying as developers. The company also highlighted its international presence: an estimated 85% of monthly active users in Q4 2024 were located outside the United States, and over 50% of its 2024 revenue came from non-U.S. markets.

To support that global community, Figma announced a full localization for the Brazilian market, which includes complete product translation, culturally adapted user interfaces, and dedicated Portuguese language support. This effort joins existing localizations in Japanese, Spanish, and Korean.

Expanding community footprint

Config serves as a gathering point for Figma's user community. The company reports that more than 100 watch parties were organized by Friends of Figma chapters across 45 countries, extending the event's reach beyond the in-person audience at the Moscone Center. This year marks Figma's eighth Config, following prior events in San Francisco, Singapore, and virtual formats. With its London debut next week, Figma expects to bring the conference to an even wider audience of product builders.
