Vercel Expands Open Source Support with Fall 2025 Cohort
Vercel has announced the second group of projects joining its Open Source Program, which launched in April to provide maintainers with resources, credits, and technical support. The fall 2025 cohort follows the spring 2025 intake and includes teams building across AI-native applications, developer infrastructure, design systems, and creative tooling.
Scope of the Program
The initiative is designed to help open-source maintainers accelerate development and scale their projects with greater confidence. Participants gain access to Vercel's platform credits alongside direct engineering support, reducing the operational overhead of running popular community projects.
Projects in the Fall 2025 Cohort
The new cohort spans a range of categories, from AI-native apps and developer infrastructure to design systems and creative tooling. While Vercel has not published the full roster in this announcement, the company notes that the selected builders "continue to amaze us" with the breadth and ambition of their work.
Vercel encourages the community to explore the individual projects and the creators behind them. Details on each selected project are available through the program's official page, and maintainers interested in future cohorts can review the program's criteria and application process there as well.
Fall 2025 Program Highlights
This season's cohort reflects the diversity of the open-source ecosystem, spanning AI tooling, developer utilities, design systems, and specialized infrastructure. Below is a look at the projects selected and what they bring to the community.
AI Development Tools
Claude Code Templates offers the first dedicated library of production-ready Claude Code components, having accumulated 7,000+ stars and 100,000+ downloads. The project has received recognition from Anthropic and the GitHub community. (Creator: Daniel Avila)
Sparka is a production-ready AI chat template designed to accelerate the development of feature-rich chat applications. The Vercel-optimized starting point has grown to 700+ GitHub stars and 80+ forks with continued community engagement. (Creator: Francisco Moretti)
Scira is an open-source AI search engine delivering fast answers from the web, Reddit, YouTube, and research papers with clear sourcing. The project reports 60K+ monthly users, 1M+ searches, and 10.7K GitHub stars, alongside features like Extreme Search, personal memory, and agent-driven deep dives. (Creator: Zaid Mukaddam)
HelixDB provides a Rust-built graph-vector database for AI application backends. With 1,900+ commits, 13 contributors, and a 300+ member community running millions of queries monthly, it serves developers building chatbots, AI agents, and domain-specific applications. (Creator: Xavier Cochran)

Better T Stack offers a modern CLI for scaffolding fully type-safe TypeScript projects with support for multiple frameworks and databases. The tool has earned 3.8K GitHub stars, 60K+ npm downloads, and 40K+ created projects, with sponsorship from companies including Convex, Neon, Better Stack, and Clerk. (Creator: Aman Varshney)

Animate UI is an open-source distribution of animated React components built with TailwindCSS and Motion, aiming to bring accessible animation to everyday interfaces. With 2,600+ GitHub stars, 3,200+ X followers, and millions of monthly edge requests on Vercel, it supports contributions of animated primitives, shadcn-style components, and 230+ animated Lucide icons. Tinte is a theme generator enabling developers to design, visualize, and share color themes for VS Code, Shadcn/UI, and other targets. The project has reached 2,000 active users, 5K+ visitors, and 468 GitHub stars, and has inspired derivative tools like TweakCN. (Creator: Railly Hugo)

WAV0 is building an open-source, AI-native music studio for the web with full DAW-level editing. The project has shipped core multi-track features, made 140+ commits, connected with 10+ artists, and secured an ElevenLabs Startup Grant, gaining attention from the AI-music community. Ora Browser is an open-source, Swift-built macOS browser targeting an Arc-style experience with native speed and smooth tab management. Publicat converts any CSV bibliography into an interactive journal explorer with timelines and visualizations. Developer Experience and Infrastructure
Billing SDK by Dodo Payments helps SaaS and AI developers ship subscriptions, usage-based billing, and one-time payments with full-stack scaffolding and production-ready UI components. It has thousands of users, 200+ GitHub stars, and hundreds of contributions. (Creator: Ayush Agarwal)
