Vercel lands sole Visionary spot in 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant
For the second year running, Vercel has been named a Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Native Application Platforms. The company is also the only vendor to receive that designation in this year's edition, which evaluated 12 providers on their Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision.
Vercel attributes the recognition to the adoption of its AI Cloud platform, which now serves more than 4 million weekly active domains and handles 115 billion requests per week. The company's position reflects what it describes as a broader shift in how applications are built and delivered as AI redefines both interfaces and workflows.
AI Cloud capabilities
The AI Cloud is Vercel's unified platform for building AI-powered features and full-stack applications. It brings together several components designed for AI-first development:
- AI SDK and AI Gateway for integrating with any model or tool
- Fluid compute with Active CPU pricing for high-concurrency, low-latency workloads
- Support for tools, MCP servers, and queues to enable background execution and autonomous actions
- Secure sandboxes for safely running agent-generated code
The platform is intended to cover the full spectrum of AI application development, from conversational interfaces to end-to-end autonomous agents, while abstracting away operational overhead.
Focus on developer experience
Vercel's investment in the AI Cloud is aimed at letting development teams concentrate on innovation rather than infrastructure management or security incident response. The company positions its platform as serving both AI-native startups and larger enterprises that need flexibility, speed, and security in their deployment workflows.
