Splitbee joins Vercel to expand first-party analytics

Vercel has acquired Splitbee, an all-in-one analytics and conversion tool, and is rolling out the acquired capabilities to all Vercel Analytics customers. The new features—top pages, top referring sites, and demographics—are available immediately. With these additions, Vercel Analytics now covers user journey insights alongside its existing performance and Web Vitals tracking.

Splitbee was built to help site owners understand user behavior and act on it quickly, offering user-triggered events and simplified A/B testing. Founders Tobias and Timo Lins will join Vercel to integrate those tools into the platform.

"We're thrilled to be joining forces with Vercel. By bringing Splitbee's capabilities to the Vercel platform, we're opening up new conversion opportunities that were not possible before. We can't wait to help every developer experiment faster, understand their traffic in real-time, and iterate in seconds."

Privacy-friendly by design

Vercel positions this as a move away from the typical trade-off where user data collection requires third-party scripts and cookies that degrade site performance. The expanded analytics are GDPR-compliant and include page view and traffic metrics without requiring consent banners. Because data collection happens at the edge, no third-party scripts or cookie tracking is involved.

Real-time insights, accessible to all teams

Visitor counts are tracked in real time, with historical data displayed for trend analysis. Teams can see immediate metrics after shipping an update, which Vercel says helps in iterating quickly and understanding traffic patterns as they happen.

The company also emphasizes making analytics available beyond specialized roles. As the product evolves, Vercel plans to blend traffic, application, and Web Vitals data so that entire teams—not just individual developers—can adopt data-driven deployment practices.

The new insights are available for free during the beta period from the Vercel dashboard. Existing Analytics users tracking Web Vitals can update their projects to start seeing page views and visitor events.
