CYBERTEC and Lightbits Bring Postgres Performance to Kubernetes at KubeCon EU 2026
At KubeCon EU 2026, CYBERTEC is teaming up with Lightbits at the Bike Zone (Booth #895) to showcase what 25 years of PostgreSQL expertise looks like in a cloud-native world. The company's mission has stayed consistent since its founding: helping enterprises in finance and tech move away from proprietary database lock-in and toward open-source infrastructure they actually control.
That mission has shaped the tooling CYBERTEC has built along the way. The CYBERTEC Migrator addresses the cost and complexity of moving off legacy systems. CYPEX targets development speed. And Scalefield, the company's most recent work, aims to delivering bare-metal performance inside a Kubernetes-managed platform.
Closing the Stateful Gap
Kubernetes was designed around stateless workloads, which is precisely why running PostgreSQL on it has historically been painful. CYBERTEC's argument is straightforward: Kubernetes-native database operators often lack the deep understanding of what PostgreSQL actually needs to run reliably, and that's where the company's decades of hands-on experience comes in.
The combination of CYBERTEC's PostgreSQL expertise with modern cloud-native orchestration is meant to ensure that data running in pods isn't just technically deployed, but is genuinely resilient. The goal is a database layer that can scale into the petabyte range while keeping the operational benefits of Kubernetes intact.
More Than 1M IOPS on NVMe-oF
The centerpiece of the collaboration with Lightbits is a new engineering whitepaper that details how PostgreSQL can handle high-intensity transactional workloads on Kubernetes without sacrificing ACID compliance. The work focuses on tuning PostgreSQL to run efficiently over NVMe-over-TCP, demonstrating throughput beyond 1M IOPS in a Kubernetes environment.
The whitepaper, titled CYBERTEC X Lightbits - The PostgreSQL Performance Efficiency Framework, is available for download from CYBERTEC's site.
Product Lineup for Cloud-Native and Enterprise Data
CYBERTEC is also using KubeCon to highlight its current product portfolio, which spans managed Kubernetes deployments and hardened enterprise distributions.
- PostgreSQL on Kubernetes — Professional cluster orchestration with 24/7 expert support for production cloud-native deployments.
- PostgreSQL for Enterprises (PGEE) — The company's "Gold Standard" distribution for critical workloads, bringing advanced security, monitoring, and consulting services.
- CYBERTEC Scalefield — A private IaaS platform designed to deliver the performance profile of bare metal with cloud-like flexibility and no vendor lock-in.
- Scalefield Secure — Centralized access control and automated governance to handle the compliance and security burden of running data infrastructure at scale.
Meet the Team and Go Deeper
KubeCon attendees can book one-on-one sessions with the CYBERTEC team at booth #895 to discuss PostgreSQL migration, Kubernetes operators, or performance engineering. For those who can't attend the event, CYBERTEC's contact page remains open.
Configuration Management with CloudNativePG
For a hands-on look at managing PostgreSQL in Kubernetes, CYBERTEC engineer Wellingtone Luvonga has published a comprehensive walkthrough on PostgreSQL configuration management with CloudNativePG (CNPG). The guide is available in the company's "How To" blog category, alongside additional deep-dive videos on YouTube and industry updates via LinkedIn.
