Figma's February Update Brings New Plans, Search Tools, and FigJam Polish

Figma opened February with a pair of launches aimed at larger organizations and distributed teams: new commercial plans and a suite of usability tweaks across both Figma and FigJam. The headline items are Figma Enterprise and new FigJam plans, but the release notes also include meaningful quality-of-life changes for everyday file management and whiteboarding.

Enterprise and FigJam Plans Go Live

The new Figma Enterprise plan is designed for companies that need more structure and control as they scale collaboration across departments and time zones. A key feature is the introduction of dedicated workspaces for each department. These spaces give teams a home for the files, team projects, and libraries they use most, while still allowing access to shared company-wide resources.

Separately, FigJam has moved out of beta and is now available to all teams under the new commercial plans.

Finding the right file has become less of a guessing game with two updates to search:

  • File previews: Search results now display a visual preview of the file, making it easier to recognize the correct project at a glance.
  • File type filters: You can now filter your recents, team pages, and search results to show only Figma design files or only FigJam boards.

FigJam: Out of Beta with a Refined Toolset

With FigJam broadly available, the team focused on making basic interactions smoother and more intuitive. Several updates target brainstorming and diagramming workflows directly.

Simplified Toolbar and Resource Library

The toolbar has been consolidated so that components, templates, widgets, and other resources are accessible from one central location. This makes it faster to set up a canvas before a meeting or pull in new elements during a session.

More Text and Visual Control

A few tweaks give users more control over how content looks and behaves:

  • Font size freedom: You can now click and drag the corners of any text box to resize the text to any size, not just preset increments. This helps establish a clearer content hierarchy when facilitating meetings.
  • Sticky stamps and highlights: Stamps and highlights now attach to their parent object. When you move an idea or grouping on the canvas, the associated reactions move along with it.
  • Swapped toolbar icons: The color picker and shape swapper icons have traded places in the toolbar for quicker access during diagramming.
  • Image borders: You can now add a border to any image to help specific visuals stand out from the rest of the board.
  • Refined selection borders: Thinner selection borders reduce visual clutter against fills, while larger corner handles make it easier to grab and resize objects.
