Thirty-Two Small Fixes That Add Up

Figma and FigJam users have a fresh batch of workflow improvements to try. The latest round is less about headline features and more about tightening the day-to-day: faster text editing, quicker shortcuts, smoother publishing, and a few handy canvas tricks. Here is the rundown of what changed.

Text, Input, and Canvas Tweaks

A handful of updates target common text frustrations. Editing speed is up to 10x faster in both Figma and FigJam. The macOS accent menu is now supported—just long press a letter to pick an accented character. Mixed text styles no longer break list bullet consistency. The Home and End keys now jump to the start or end of a text area. Connector text in FigJam also got a small change: pressing Return or Enter creates a new line, where previously you needed Shift+Return.

On the canvas itself, vector network regions can now be filled with different colors. Retina screenshots pasted in Chrome will use the correct dimensions. Exporting SVG strokes on a parent object works again. FigJam shapes have more flexible resizing options, and objects continue snapping to the grid while you drag.

There are also a few quality-of-life fixes specific to FigJam: the red shape color is more red and less orange, text highlights on blue backgrounds are more visible, the right-click menu can copy a direct link to any element, and stamps can be dragged directly from the wheel.

Selection and Navigation Shortcuts

Several new shortcuts speed up common selection tasks. In the desktop app, ⌘L (or Ctrl+L on Windows) copies links to both the file and selected frames. Pressing ⌘R (Ctrl+R) renames elements even when the UI is hidden. To select a top-level frame from the canvas, hold ⌘ (Ctrl on Windows) and click on it—no need to click the frame's name anymore.

Quick actions (⌘+/ or Ctrl+/) now include options to show or hide the FigJam UI and to unlock all objects. Hovering over the in-line FigJam toolbar surfaces additional keyboard shortcuts. External links no longer show interstitial pages, so you stay in the flow. The insert component (Shift+I) and swap instance flows both gained search functionality to find items faster. Even file management got a little boost: published files have a separate icon so you can identify them without opening them.

Library Publishing Improvements

Publishing components is simpler across the board. You can publish any component with a simple right-click, search through components when publishing, and see which changes haven't been published—then publish them on the spot from the same modal. The publishing modal also lets you find invalid components, choose which to show or hide in the asset list, and navigate to problems directly. For existing components, clicking a main component always offers a "Return to instance" option. Team libraries can be linked to directly from org subscription settings, and in FigJam, your team libraries are now prioritized in the modal for quick access.

Finally, both apps now support HEIC uploads, making it easier to bring iPhone photos into your work.
