A new hub for database integrations

Vercel is expanding its ecosystem with the launch of the Vercel Marketplace, a single destination for discovering and managing third-party services. The initial release focuses on storage, offering Supabase, Redis, and EdgeDB alongside existing first-party options like Blob and Edge Config. All three new integrations are priced the same as purchasing directly from the providers.

The Marketplace addresses a common pain point: juggling separate accounts, billing systems, and setup processes across different tools. Through the Vercel dashboard, developers can now access provider consoles without additional logins, manage subscriptions in one place, and compare free and paid tiers. The integrations are available to Hobby, Pro, and Enterprise plans via a self-service flow.

Starting with what matters most

Databases are a foundational piece of most applications, which is why Vercel chose them for the Marketplace’s first wave. The three launch partners cover a range of storage needs:

  • Supabase: A Postgres-based platform that includes authentication, real-time capabilities, and vector search, designed for scalable, high-performance applications.
  • Redis: An in-memory data store suited for dynamic use cases like AI agents, chatbots, and personalization engines that require low-latency access.
  • EdgeDB: A relational database built on Postgres with an object-oriented data model, an integrated migration system, and a specialized query language.

The Marketplace page provides detailed documentation for each integration, and Vercel plans to add more services based on developer demand. Providers interested in listing their tools can contact Vercel directly.

What happens to Vercel Postgres and Vercel KV?

Vercel's existing storage products, Vercel Postgres and Vercel KV, remain fully operational for now. However, starting in November, both will transition into their underlying provider ecosystems. Vercel Postgres will become Neon, and Vercel KV will become Upstash. This shift is designed to give users access to the more advanced features these partners have added since launch.

The migration is fully automated, with no anticipated downtime or required action from developers. Pricing and usage limits will align with what Neon and Upstash offer to their direct customers. After the move, new stores will be managed through the Marketplace integrations, while existing ones will continue to operate without interruption. For teams starting fresh projects before the November cutoff, the older Vercel-branded stores will still be available until then, with migration occurring later.
