A global meetup series for AI-assisted development
GitHub Copilot Dev Days is a worldwide series of in-person, community-driven events focused on practical AI-assisted coding with GitHub Copilot. Starting in March, events are rolling out in cities across the globe, with hands-on sessions, live demos, and workshops built around real development workflows.
The goal is straightforward: help developers at any skill level get more out of Copilot today. Whether you are new to AI pair programming or already use Copilot daily, the events are structured to give you tools and techniques you can apply immediately.
Who should attend
The series is open to everyone. Events are organized by and for a mix of professional developers, students, and hobbyists. Sessions are designed to accommodate varying experience levels and programming backgrounds.
If you are exploring AI-assisted development for the first time, you will get an introduction to the core tools and best practices. More experienced developers can expect to see the latest features and optimization tips to ensure their workflows are current.
What a typical event looks like
Community organizers shape each event to fit local interests, so specifics will vary from city to city. However, most events follow a common format, including an introductory session, a talk by a local developer or community leader, and a hands-on coding workshop. Expect roughly 30-45 minutes for each talk, followed by about an hour of practical exercises.
Content covers a range of tools, including the GitHub Copilot CLI, Cloud Agent, GitHub Copilot in VS Code, Visual Studio, and other editors. Different events highlight different topics, so check the registration page for the full agenda before signing up.
Hosts include GitHub Stars, Microsoft MVPs, GitHub Campus Experts, Microsoft Student Ambassadors, and GitHub and Microsoft employees. Beyond the technical content, each event is meant to be a chance to connect with your local developer community and pick up some swag.
