A Show That Lets AI Grow Up On Camera

AI is everywhere in developer news, but for most people it remains an abstract concept. Cloudflare is launching AI Avenue, a six-part video series designed to make AI tangible — something you can see, touch, and try rather than just read about.

The show is hosted by Cloudflare's Craig, alongside Yorick, a robot hand with a talent for comic timing. Rather than presenting AI as a finished product, the series follows Yorick as he gains new abilities episode by episode: first a voice, then vision, then the capacity to think, learn, act, and even imagine the future.

Learning on the Job

The narrative device is simple: nothing comes into the world fully formed. By telling the story of AI as it acquires capabilities one at a time, the show aims to strip away the jargon and address common fears, demonstrating how AI augments human work rather than replacing it. Each episode mixes hands-on demos, interviews, and real-world examples.

The episode lineup takes Yorick from London to San Francisco to New York City:

  • Thinking — A live trivia stream reveals the perils of confident misinformation, alongside a real story of someone whose life was saved by ChatGPT.
  • Learning — Yorick discovers generative AI and decides he can produce the show himself, spawning multiple Craig clones and raising questions about ethics and creativity.
  • Doing — The series digs into what “doing” means in AI and robotics.
  • Smell — The finale explores agentic AI, quantum computing, and big sci-fi ambitions, with a cameo from a nine-year-old vibe coder.
