Structured Learning for Security- and Platform-Focused Teams

GitHub has introduced GitHub Learning Pathways, a set of prescriptive learning modules that combine guided tutorials with best practices from engineering leaders at organizations such as Amplifon, Telus, Salesforce, Cariad, Datadog, DVAG, Itau, Stack Overflow, Coyote Logistics, and Hello Fresh. The pathways are designed to move teams from foundational knowledge to deeper proficiency and expertise.

The modules are organized into three levels:

  • Essentials — for building a solid foundation.
  • Intermediate — for extending beyond core concepts.
  • Advanced — for developing specialized, deep expertise.

What the pathways cover

The current pathways span three discipline areas. For teams focused on automation, the content walks through building a first CI/CD workflow with GitHub Actions and scaling up to enterprise-level automation, highlighting how organizations reduce toil, improve productivity, and improve developer satisfaction.

The Security pathway emphasizes protecting a codebase without slowing down development. Learners start with getting GitHub Advanced Security up and running in a few clicks, then progress to customizing it for their organization’s specific requirements.

The Administration and Governance pathway covers configuring GitHub Enterprise Cloud to support effective collaboration regardless of organizational scale.
