GitHub Enterprise Server 3.2 now generally available
GitHub Enterprise Server 3.2 has reached general availability for all customers, introducing more than 70 new features and enhancements focused on security and developer experience. The complete list of changes is documented in the official release notes, with six highlights standing out:
- Production-grade continuous delivery workflows with GitHub Actions environments, including environment protection rules and environment-specific secrets.
- Customized visual experience through new dark and dimmed appearance settings.
- Better collaboration in pull requests with video attachments directly in issues and PRs, plus a new branch protection rule requiring all conversations to be resolved before merging.
- Broader authentication support for third-party security keys and the Git Credential Manager.
- Restricted notification delivery via the Approved and Verified Domains administrative feature, letting administrators limit which email domains receive notifications.
- Reduced credential risk by configuring personal access tokens to automatically expire.
Customers protected by GitHub Advanced Security also gain a security overview, providing an organization-wide view of application security risks surfaced by code scanning, Dependabot, and secret scanning. In addition, security teams can now detect company-specific credentials by using custom patterns in secret scanning.
