GitHub has made GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES) 3.13 generally available, bringing a wave of updates for developers, enterprise admins, and operators. The release focuses on improving information discovery, strengthening security visibility, and smoothing out collaboration workflows.
Faster paths to the right information
The latest repository UI updates aim to cut down on time spent hunting for context. Code search has been improved for faster results, and special files now get a more prominent display next to the README. The idea is to get developers to the details they need without breaking their flow.
Sharper security posture and insights
For security-conscious teams, GHES 3.13 introduces broader access to security reporting, along with clearer metrics and trends for vulnerability tracking. Admins can now also see adoption rates for security features across their organization, which helps surface not just risks but also gaps in how team members are engaging with secure development practices.
On the identity side, a significant change is arriving: enterprise and organization audit log events will now include SAML and SCIM identity data tied to the user.
