Elements panel gets Baseline interoperability hints
Chrome’s Elements panel is a daily stop for most frontend work, and one of its quiet conveniences is the hover card that appears over a CSS property to explain what it does. Those cards, originally contributed by Google Developer Expert Alexey Rodionov, already link out to MDN documentation. Rodionov has now extended them with a visual Baseline indicator so you can check a property’s cross-browser support status without leaving the panel.
Each property’s card now shows whether it is Baseline: Newly available or Baseline: Widely available, or flags properties that have not yet reached Baseline status. For properties in the Newly available or Widely available tiers, the card also includes the interoperability date, giving you a quick sense of how long the feature has been reliably supported across browsers.
The feature is available starting in Chrome 140; at the time of writing, that version is in beta and is expected to reach stable shortly.
