GitHub Universe 2025: Schedule, Sessions, and What’s New

The full session lineup for GitHub Universe 2025 is now live, with more than 100 talks, demos, and panels focused on AI-assisted development. The event runs October 28–29 at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, bringing together engineers from Red Hat, HubSpot, CVS, General Motors, and other companies to discuss topics ranging from vibe coding and automation to AI-driven security. Attendees can also book one-on-one time with GitHub staff, ask technical questions, and get career guidance. This year introduces two demo stages—one featuring donuts, the other a silent disco.

Early Bird pricing has been extended to Wednesday, September 17, a $400 discount on in-person passes. Group rates stack on top: 25% off for three or more passes and 35% off for eight or more.

Post-Conference Learning at GitHub HQ

New for 2025, a GitHub HQ day of learning experience takes place on October 30. A general admission pass includes one GitHub or Microsoft Certification exam, available on a first-come, first-served basis with pre-registration required. The HQ day includes:

  • Certification exams: GitHub Actions, GitHub Administration, GitHub Advanced Security, GitHub Foundations, and GitHub Copilot, plus Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, and Azure Developer Associate. Exams not taken in person can be completed remotely within 90 days after Universe.
  • Applied Skills labs: Interactive, real-world challenges to test your knowledge in a hands-on format.
  • HQ tours: Guided visits through GitHub's San Francisco headquarters.
  • Community and celebration: Swag, raffles, and opportunities to network with GitHub leaders and fellow attendees.

More Ways to Participate

Attendees can also sign up for one-on-one meetings at the Career Corner for job advice or the GitHub Expert Center for technical guidance. On-site, the Open Source Zone offers a chance to connect with maintainers and community leaders, while The Shop sells Copilot merchandise. Recess and Makerspace provide additional spaces for mingling with peers who share non-dev interests or for exploring creative uses of code.

Students are eligible for a virtual micro-mentoring program as part of GitHub's Social Impact initiatives. These 30-minute one-on-one sessions run between October 20 and October 31 and offer resume feedback, career advice, and skill development tips. Applications close September 19.
