A Real Meal After Weeks of Sodexho

Sophie and her housemates hosted a dinner for Nik, Max, Rachel, Anna, and me, and it was a welcome break from the usual cafeteria fare. The spread was loaded with fresh-baked bread, kugel, salad, and a large roast with carrots and vegetables. After weeks of Sodexho, sitting down to good food and company was the highlight of the weekend. Max and I took dish duty, and afterward we settled on the couches to study and catch an episode of Grey's Anatomy.

Mixed Results on Monday's Tests

Monday's exams went alright, though I came away more puzzled by the electromagnetic material than the partial differential equations portion. The Parts test didn't actually require solving any PDEs, which was lucky since that's the area I still don't fully grasp. Seeing how function spaces line up with linear algebra concepts keeps bending my mind, but at least the test played to what I know.

First Trip to Genyokan

This weekend is the Genyokan trip—ten of us are piling into Sophie's car and Joel-sensei's van to head up to Ann Arbor. We're leaving Thursday night, so Friday's homework needs to be done by then. The weekend is packed with classes, clinics, and the demo we've rehearsed in every session for the past two weeks. I'm eager to go; I couldn't make it last year, so this is my first time hitting the road with the group.
