Vodpod Chrome Extension Ships with Desktop Alerts
A new Chrome extension for Vodpod.com is now available, built on top of the high-performance API the developer authored last year. The extension delivers unread-message synchronization and desktop notifications whenever a contact collects a video, alongside a miniaturized version of the user's feed.
The developer reports that Chrome proved an excellent development target, with everything functioning as the standard specifies. Local storage, JSON, inter-view communication, and notifications all worked without friction, drawing praise for the Chrome and Chromium teams. The extension is offered through the Chrome extensions directory.
