Glenn Davis resurfaces with raw tales of the early web
You might not recognize the name, but Glenn Davis helped build the web as we know it. Now he’s back with Verevolf, a growing archive of personal recollections from his pioneering days.
Zeldman flagged the site, calling Davis a huge part of creating the web we take for granted today. The posts are unvarnished firsthand accounts, including the origin story of his legendary Cool Site of the Day and how a frustrated email snowballed into the Web Standards Project.
Personal history is often emotional, and Davis’s posts don’t shy from that. What stands out is how his experiences complement other retellings, like Chapter 7 of the Web History series, where Jay Hoffman chronicles the same standards evolution.
