Scenes From A Global Halloween

PopArt Studio of Novi Sad, Serbia, describes Halloween as a celebration that now crosses continents — candlelit European streets on one side, festivals across the Americas on the other — with children dressing as their favorite heroes for candy-filled adventures while adults recover the playful excitement of childhood. Glowing pumpkins and costumes, in that reading, light up the autumn dark and bring neighbors together.

Two October Scenes: Floodlit Pitch and Cold-Morning Coffee

Autumn is the shared theme of this pair, but they take it in opposite directions — one a geometric illustration of a stadium at dusk, the other a small, warm morning scene.

Under The Floodlights

This geometric illustration, designed by Football Charts from Serbia, catches the pause before kickoff: the pitch is empty, floodlights burn warm, and the sky is dark. Scattered leaves signal the season, and the composition is open on purpose so the desktop underneath stays visible.

Under The Floodlights

Files are offered as a preview, alongside the usual set of downloads in calendar and non-calendar variants.

Coffee Weather

From Ginger IT Solutions in Serbia comes the month's cozier entry. Their scene is built around what October brings — colder mornings, warmer clothes, and coffee that somehow tastes better outdoors.

Midnight Mischief

Serbian designer Libra Fire contributes this October entry.

Bird Migration Portal

Eline Claeys, a designer from Belgium, based this piece on a childhood memory: a bird's nest near her bedroom window, watched almost daily, whose swallows always departed in October. As a child she imagined them flying off together toward a warmer, less cold place.

Magical October

“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” (L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables)

Hungarian designer Lívi Lénárt supplied both the artwork and the quotation.

The Crow And The Ghosts

Lívia Lénárt, another Hungarian contributor, pairs her artwork with the line: “If my heart were a season, it would be autumn.”

Wallpapers From Belgium, Spain And Taiwan

The October set continues with five more designs, each with a calendar and no-calendar variant. As with the rest of the collection, resize links follow the -nocal- naming pattern in the source paths.

Spooky Town

Xenia Latii of Germany built the first Halloween-flavoured entry.

Ghostbusters

Ricardo Gimenes of Spain contributed the next entry, with the widest spread of aspect ratios here, including a square 1024x1024 crop.

Hanlu

Hong, ZI-Qing of Taiwan starts from the seasonal term “Hanlu,” literally “Cold Dew.” The description notes that cold dew brings brisk mornings and evenings, that the briskness will eventually turn cold as winter approaches, and that the chrysanthemum is the iconic flower of this period.

Transitions

Jelle Denturck of Belgium treats the month itself as the subject: October as a transitional period that slides gradually from summer to autumn. That idea surfaces as heavy use of gradients, paired with simple shapes — autumn framed as the “back to nature/back to basics month.” The crop list is the shortest of the group and skews large, from 1600x1200 up to 2880x1800.

Hello Autumn

Erin Troch of Belgium built the last of the five around a less obvious seasonal pairing: squirrels eat fruit as well as nuts, and apples are October’s fruit, so the two details merge into a single image.

First Scarf And The Beach

Gwen Bogaert, Belgium.

“When I was little, my parents always took me and my sister for a walk at the beach in Nieuwpoort. We didn't really do those beach walks in the summer but always when the sky started to turn gray and the days became colder. My sister and I always took out our warmest scarfs and played in the sand while my parents walked behind us. I really loved those Saturday or Sunday mornings where we were all together. I think October (when it’s not raining) is the perfect month to go to the beach for ‘uitwaaien’ (to blow out), to walk in the wind and take a break and clear your head, relieve the stress or forget one’s problems.”

Shades Of Gold

PopArt Studio, Serbia.

“We are about to experience the magical imagery of nature, with all the yellows, ochers, oranges, and reds coming our way this fall. With all the subtle sunrises and the burning sunsets before us, we feel so joyful that we are going to shout it out to the world from the top of the mountains.”

Tea And Cookies

Miruna Sfia, Romania.

“As it gets colder outside, all I want to do is stay inside with a big pot of tea, eat cookies, and read or watch a movie, wrapped in a blanket. Is it just me?”

Costumed Pugs, Cozy Game Nights And Other October Scenes

The Halloween side of the month gets its own entry courtesy of Trillion from Summit, NJ, who reasoned that the best part of October is Halloween and the best part of Halloween is dog owners who seize every o-paw-tunity to dress up their pups. The designer picked pugs in particular because they look cute in any costume, and because their wrinkly snorting snoots reliably get a giggle.

A Very Pug-o-ween

Less spooky, more domestic: Lieselot Geirnaert from Belgium describes October as cozy evenings with hot chocolate, freshly baked cookies, and a game night with friends or family.

From Walks In The Forest To A Pirate Throne

Hilda Rytteke from Sweden offers a reminder that autumn is a wonderful time to go for walks in the forest.

Autumn in the forest

Ana Masnikosa from Belgrade, Serbia frames the shifting season through built surroundings rather than trees: colder days paired with warmer colors, and new earthly architecture revealing itself with every step — the best of winter's dawn.

Autumn Gate

The widest range of the set belongs to Ricardo Gimenes of Spain, with nineteen sizes running from 640x480 up to 3840x2160.

King Of The Pirates

A Galaxy, Or Maybe A UFO

Verónica Valenzuela from Spain treats autumn as the best moment for discovering the universe, and is on the lookout for a new galaxy — or possibly a UFO.

Discovering The Universe!

Rogue Hardware and Retro Infection

Frank Candamil, a designer based in the United States, framed his piece as a collision between retro science fiction and zombie fiction: a Mars rover exposed to an unidentified Martian material, infected by a virus, and turned away from research and exploration toward chaos and evil. The open question in the design is whether humans would still dare to travel to the red planet once the rovers ran rogue.

Seasons, Coffee and Code

Two of the remaining submissions take the month itself as their subject. Dope Code, from Poland's Robert Brodziak, leans on the local October weather: colder days and heavy rain push people indoors, which he treats as the ideal excuse to pour a hot coffee and get to work on the next web project.

Dope Code

Thuy Truong, from the United States, states the preference plainly — fall is her favorite season — and builds the wallpaper around that.

Happy Fall!

Halloween, Pushed Forward to 2040
