September Wallpapers Are Here

Another month means another round of fresh desktop wallpapers to brighten up your screen. This September's collection brings together designs that celebrate the end of summer and the start of autumn, all created by artists from around the world.

The monthly wallpaper series has run for over 15 years, giving creatives a chance to work without the usual constraints of client briefs or stakeholder feedback. Each artist explores their own ideas and brings their personal style to the table. Every wallpaper in this collection is free to download and comes in multiple screen resolutions.

As always, the artists were given full creative freedom. The themes and imagery you see here come entirely from the designers themselves — no influence from our side. If you're interested in submitting your own work for an upcoming collection, the door is open.

Welcome Autumn

Popart Studio from Serbia captures the seasonal shift with this design. The illustration is inspired by the moment when fallen leaves start covering the streets of Novi Sad and the air takes on that crisp, golden quality. A woodland canopy forms a natural archway around the workspace, using deep amber, rust, and burgundy tones to evoke the cozy feeling of autumn's arrival.

Welcoming the Rain

PopArt Studio from Serbia leans into the season's gloomier side with a wallpaper that reframes autumn showers as something to embrace rather than avoid. Armed with the right gear, rainy days can be a pleasant change of pace — a sentiment the design leans into with a palette of blues and wet-weather charm.

Finding Jaguar

PopArt Studio from Serbia dedicates this wallpaper to Vedran Badjun from Dalmatia, Croatia. The sentiment is one of reverence for nature, which "has given us life," yet humanity has "given themselves the right to master something they do not fully understand." The artwork is intended to inspire love for the planet, referencing threatened treasures like the Amazon and Siberia, and to encourage living in harmony with the natural world.

Early Autumn

As September marks "early autumn," designer Kat Gluszek of Germany chose to draw trees and leaves. Conceding that few are happy to see summer end, she retained warm, "summerish" colors and a light style to soften the seasonal transition.

Signs of the Season

September, and the arrival of autumn, has a different mood depending on where you live. For one designer in Serbia, it brings a distinct set of images: “schoolchildren across Serbia would write about what autumn feels like in their neighborhood. Usually, it’s the imagery of fallen leaves rustling under the feet, foggy and chilly mornings with the sun breaking between the murky clouds, a muffled sound of a chainsaw cutting firewood somewhere in the distance, the smells of fruits and vegetables being prepared for home canning. Autumn is the season of serenity, quietness, and reflection.”

Designed by PopArt Studio from Serbia, this wallpaper captures that calm, contemplative essence of the season.

September Vibes

Available without a calendar in a range of standard resolutions, from 320x480 to 2560x1440, the design is ready for screens of all sizes. You can view a preview before downloading.

A Sharp Turn to Fall

For a more structured nod to the changing leaves, Advanced Web Ranking from Romania offers a geometric interpretation. The design is straightforward in its intent: “I designed this wallpaper to remind everyone that autumn is here.”

Geometric Autumn

This design is offered without a calendar in sizes including 800x600, 1280x800, 1920x1200, and up to 2560x1440.

Resisting the Change

Not everyone is ready to trade flip-flops for sweaters, and designer Vicki Grunewald from Washington speaks for that group. Even as the Autumnal Equinox signals a technical end to summer, her wallpaper holds onto the season's heat: “While September's Autumnal Equinox technically signifies the end of the summer season, this wallpaper is for all those summer lovers, like me, who don't want the sunshine, warm weather, and lazy days to end.”

Long Live Summer

For those who want to cling to those long, lazy days, this option is available without a calendar from 320x480 to 2560x1440.

Post-Summer Precautions

The end of summer also brings an end to certain seasonal yard decorations, as humorously noted by designer Marina Bošnjak from Croatia. Her playful design addresses the new reality of the season, noting that “Summer is officially over and we will no longer need our inflatable flamingos. Now, we'll need umbrellas. And some flamingos will need an umbrella too!”

No More Inflatable Flamingos!

The design, which features no calendar, can be downloaded in a wide array of resolutions, from 320x480 for portable devices up to 2560x1440 for widescreen monitors. In total, 21 different aspect ratios are covered, ensuring a good fit for most displays. A preview is available for a closer look.

One More Design From This Month’s Selection

Ricardo Gimenes, a designer based in Spain, contributed a piece titled “Never Stop Exploring” to this month’s collection. The design is available in both calendar and no-calendar versions, with a variety of resolutions to match different screen sizes.
