Misrouted Podcast Pitches Land an Unexpected Interview
This episode of the podcast comes with a backstory. The video is sponsored by PodPitch, a platform designed for PR professionals to research, write, and send outreach pitches to podcast hosts. Thanks to an apparent mix-up in its AI, the service has been confusing me, Kyle Kingsbury, with the MMA fighter and podcast host of the same name. As a result, I’ve been receiving—and occasionally accepting—interview requests meant for someone far more famous.
That confusion led to today’s conversation with Dave Rossi, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and author of Alphas Die Early. While I’m admittedly out of my depth trying to read properly and formulate compelling questions, the mix-up has at least provided an interesting guest list.
Unfortunately, the mix-up has its downsides. One of the PR firms involved eventually figured out the error, and they were contractually obligated to cancel my third scheduled interview.
