Dropbox API now supports multiple test users
Dropbox has expanded the development phase of its API to allow more than one user to test an app. Apps in development mode can now be shared with up to five additional users, giving developers a way to test file-sharing features or hand the app to a small QA team before release.
Enabling additional users
To add testers, open the Options page for your app from My Apps. A new Additional users section now appears there. Click Enable additional users to activate the feature, after which you can send the app to up to five people.
Managing and promoting your app
After a user interacts with your app's Dropbox features, their Dropbox account email will appear in this section. You retain full control over the tester list: returning to the Options page lets you click Remove next to any email to revoke access.
Once your app has passed this testing phase and is ready for wider distribution, apply for production status. This application allows Dropbox to verify that your app works correctly with the API and follows the platform's guidelines. Approval lifts the user cap, opening API access to an unlimited number of users.
