Brightening Up a Gray Month

For many parts of the world, November brings shorter days and grayer skies. To counter that, designers from around the globe have once again contributed to our monthly wallpaper series, crafting vibrant and imaginative desktop backgrounds for November 2023.

Every submission is available in versions both with and without a calendar, and all can be downloaded free of charge. The creative direction was left entirely to the artists, resulting in a diverse collection that reflects their individual emotions and experiences. As a bonus, we've dug through more than twelve years of our wallpaper archives to include a selection of November favorites at the end of this post, just in case one of your past favorites has slipped your mind.

Pura Ulun Danu Bratan: Caught Between Dusk And Dawn

For Spanish designer Veronica Valenzuela Jimenez, November is a month of earthy colors, falling leaves, and cozy afternoons indoors. But it’s also a time for adventure. Her wallpaper transports us to Bali, showing the lakeside temple Pura Ulun Danu Bratan in a moment that could be either sunset or sunrise. Whether it's the start or the end of the day hardly matters; the mood is what counts.

Design For A Cause: The Zero Hunger Initiative

Jenna Miller from Portland, OR, uses her wallpaper to spotlight a cause close to her team’s heart. The design ties into the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development's “Zero Hunger” goal—a global push to end hunger, ensure food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.

Miller encourages team members to volunteer with non-profits they care about throughout the year, not just during the holidays. Her November wallpaper serves as a reminder to explore local opportunities and put your skills to use for meaningful impact.

Still Worth Keeping Around

Every design in the monthly wallpapers collection eventually moves out of the spotlight, but some of them stay worth revisiting long after their calendar month has passed. The older submissions below come from our wallpapers archives and don't include a calendar for the current month.

Seasonal Scenes and Seasonal Signals

November inspires different moods depending on where you look from. The designs below capture everything from a jellyfish day tribute to a full-on winter welcome.

A Jelly November

"Been looking for a mysterious, gloomy, yet beautiful desktop wallpaper for this winter season? We've got you, as this month's calendar marks Jellyfish Day. On November 3rd, we celebrate these unique, bewildering, and stunning marine animals. Besides adorning your screen, we've got you covered with some jellyfish fun facts: they aren't really fish, they need very little oxygen, eat a broad diet, and shrink in size when food is scarce. Now that's some tenacity to look up to." — Designed by PopArt Studio from Serbia.

Colorful Autumn

"Autumn can be dreary, especially in November, when rain starts pouring every day. We wanted to summon better days, so that's how this colourful November calendar was created. Open your umbrella and let's roll!" — Designed by PopArt Studio from Serbia.
