April is nearly here, and with it comes another round of community-made wallpapers for desktop and mobile. The monthly collection, now more than a decade old, gives designers a chance to experiment, have fun, or highlight a subject they care about. Every image below is available in calendar and no-calendar versions and is free to download.

Designer Hrishikesh Shome from India took inspiration from mystery and suspense for his April submission. The wallpaper depicts a village that feels abandoned and unsettling, where things are not quite right. Designer Jad Tindall of the United States explains the concept: “April brings with it a fun warmth, it reignites childlike wonder with the world around us. I wanted to capture that in the energy of this happy Slimeguy, as well as with my mostly yellow-toned colors. He leaps forth onto your screen with an abstract warmth and energy one can only find in the springtime.”
