Stripe Apps marketplace grows to 125 listings, adds curated collections and embedded components
Stripe launched its Apps platform and App Marketplace in May 2022 with 50 third-party integrations. Nearly two years later, the catalog has more than doubled to 125 apps, including DocuSign, Mailchimp, and Mercury. Alongside the expanded catalog, Stripe is introducing two discovery features: curated app collections and embedded components for platforms running on Stripe Connect.
Curated app bundles based on workflow patterns
Stripe has begun suggesting app collections in the Dashboard, the App Marketplace, and elsewhere in its products. The collections group apps by company size — for example, enterprise-focused bundles built around Salesforce and Adobe Commerce — or by Stripe product, such as Atlas. A large customer using Stripe Billing, for instance, might be shown combinations of Billing with apps like Billit, RevenueCat, and Churnkey, based on usage patterns Stripe has observed across its customer base.
The collections are intended to both surface developer-built tools to more businesses and help customers adopt combinations of apps that have proven effective for other Stripe users. Uplisting, a vacation rental software company, used the HubSpot Data Sync app to connect Stripe Payments directly to HubSpot, automating customer interactions from quote to purchase. That cut average onboarding time from 10 days to 3. The company also uses Rewardful and ProfitWell Health Scores apps, which flag customers at risk of churning or ready to make additional purchases. Uplisting credits the ProfitWell integration with retaining $5,000 in monthly subscriptions and an 81% customer recovery rate.
“We’re a team of coders, but it’s nice not needing to build, because the solutions we need are already available from the Stripe App Marketplace,” said Dan Kavanagh, head of operations at Uplisting.
Embedded components bring apps to Connect platforms
Stripe Apps were built for direct Stripe customers, but millions of small businesses interact with Stripe only through marketplaces and platforms. To reach them, Stripe is now offering embedded components for Apps in beta — prebuilt UIs that let platforms offer third-party integrations natively within their own dashboards via Stripe Connect.
Kajabi, a technology suite for entrepreneurs creating and selling digital content, is already using the components. The platform launched a direct Xero integration for Kajabi Payments users so customers can synchronize payments data and streamline accounting workflows. Kajabi also released an app to sync with QuickBooks Online. According to CEO Ahad Khan, embedded components reduced integration time to market and saved users up to 10 hours monthly with the Xero sync.
“Now, they can use this new integration approach and the power of the Stripe Apps ecosystem to quickly add valuable experiences for their customers.”
Developer momentum behind the ecosystem
Stripe attributes the marketplace growth to its decision to emphasize developer tooling and a clear app-building process from the start. That developer buy-in, supported by the Stripe Partner Ecosystem, has produced a catalog that covers an increasing range of workflows. As new customer needs surface, Stripe expects its developer community to continue building apps to address them.
