A New Shop Collection for the Code That Follows You Outdoors
The GitHub Shop’s latest drop takes its name from a familiar keyboard shortcut: ESC. The thinking is straightforward—sometimes the breakthrough on a stubborn bug arrives once you step away from the desk. The collection leans into that idea with apparel and accessories designed for lounging, swimming, and warm-weather escapes, all carrying the usual Octocat motifs.

Core Additions and a Fresh Hat Color
The most-requested item, a body tee, finally joins the lineup. The long-running header hat also appears in a new colorway, and for anyone moving between the keyboard and the pool deck, there are new slides to complete the transition. Each piece keeps the standard developer iconography front and center.

Two Ways to Dress for Warm Weather
For a bolder look, the Cabana set pairs a matching shirt and shorts featuring Mona, Copilot, and Rubber Ducky done up in full tropical styling. A more subdued option is available as a linen shirt with a hibiscus print. Both coordinate with the invertocat cooler tote for carrying supplies to wherever you settle.

A Bestseller, Sized for a Can
The black invertocat hoodie remains one of the shop's popular items, and it now has a miniature counterpart. The coozie adopts the hoodie’s look but serves a different purpose: keeping a cold drink insulated rather than warming a torso. It doesn’t offer the same warmth as the full-size version, but that’s the point.
Keeping Hydration Close at Hand
Also new is the Mona float, a floating drink holder shaped like the octocat mascot. It is meant for poolside use, so your beverage stays within reach without leaving the water—or requiring you to leave your lounging position. The collection rounds out with gear focused on minimizing movement while maximizing relaxation.

A Try-Before-You-Buy Experience, Sort Of
The shopping experience itself gets a technical tweak. The team used a lidar scanner to capture backgrounds for the product imagery, and the shop lets visitors adjust the background color, zoom, and other settings to explore the items from different angles. It is a small interactive layer on top of the usual product pages.
Take the --yolo approach this season: the full ESC collection is live now at the GitHub Shop. If none of this fits your summer plans, the team hints at something else in the works for the World Cup, so it may be worth checking back.
