Kyle Kingsbury has released tund, a daemon that keeps a persistent reverse SSH tunnel alive. When a stolen device connects to the internet, tund automatically initiates an outbound tunnel to a known server—like somewhere.com—letting you reach the machine remotely even from behind a firewall or NAT.
The tool, created as a holiday gift for the developer community, also serves a gentler purpose: it lets him SSH into his home computer while at work. The same mechanism that aids theft recovery doubles as remote access for everyday use.
