CNCF Honors Spotify With Top End User Award
Spotify is the recipient of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation's (CNCF) Top End User Award, announced at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon. The award is voted on by the more than 140 organizations that make up the CNCF's End User Community, making the recognition particularly meaningful for the company.
Spotify joined the CNCF three years ago. Since then, the company has focused on both adopting and evangelizing cloud native technology, including Kubernetes, gRPC, and Envoy. That involvement extends beyond usage: Spotify has contributed more than 27,000 contributions to 13 different CNCF projects, covering both code and strategic direction. The company has also been active in CNCF forums and meetups, including the Stockholm community group.
A significant part of the recognition stems from Spotify's work on Backstage, its open source developer portal platform. Backstage was accepted into the CNCF Sandbox last year, marking a major milestone for a project that began inside Spotify’s engineering organization.
