As part of Smashing Magazine’s long-running monthly series, artists from around the world have contributed original artwork to brighten up your screens. This month's wallpaper collection brings together three very different visual moods. A more introspective piece comes from Hitesh Puri in New Delhi, who borrows the familiar shape of a search bar. Rather than pointing outward, the visual metaphor is turned inward:

"I used the search-bar metaphor to reflect a daily habit and transform it into a moment of introspection, reminding myself to pause and look inward."

The collection closes on a darker, narrative note. Veronica Valenzuela, also from Spain, keeps her ongoing series of film-inspired wallpapers going with a visit to the world of Shutter Island:

Vlad Gerasimov from Georgia describes his piece as a “very cozy place, both realistic and cartoonish.” Designed as a hybrid of a great shop and a cafe, the scene is packed with details, mixing plants, books, bottles, and shelves together. “I must admit, it took longer to draw than most of my other pictures! For a minimalist option, Elise Vanoorbeek from Belgium contributed a clean design simply titled "Snow." The wallpaper has no artist statement, letting the imagery speak for itself.
