Reminder: Turning off Core API version 0 on Wednesday, May 1st, 2013

Core API version 0 shutdown reminder

Dropbox is completing the deprecation of Core API version 0 on Wednesday, May 1st, 2013. The shutdown for all users marks the end of a process that began when version 1 of the API was introduced in October 2011.

The timeline for the deprecation was as follows:

• October 11, 2011 — Version 1 of the Core API was announced, officially deprecating version 0.
• August 17, 2012 — The original turn-off date for version 0 was announced as December 1, 2012.
• December 1, 2012 — The deadline was extended to March 4, 2013 to allow developers more migration time and users time to upgrade their apps.
• March 4, 2013 — Access to version 0 was restricted to existing users only. New users could no longer link to apps running on version 0.
• May 1, 2013 — Core API version 0 will be turned off for all users.
