PGDay Austria 2025: Dates, Deadlines, and How to Take Part

PGDay Austria returns to Vienna on September 4th, 2025, with the event once again hosted in the Apothekertrakt of Schönbrunn Palace. Organizers Ilya Kosmodemiansky (Data Egret) and Patricia Horvath (CYBERTEC) have confirmed the venue, which drew positive feedback from attendees at the 2021 and 2022 editions. The single-day conference is dedicated entirely to PostgreSQL and will feature talks, unconference sessions, and ample opportunity for community networking.

Three Ways to Join

Submit a talk. The call for papers is open, with a deadline of June 15th, 2025. Submissions are reviewed by a committee that will determine the final schedule, with three rooms available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Speakers receive free conference access and an invitation to the speakers dinner on September 3rd. Proposals can be submitted with just a title and abstract, and organizers emphasize that speaking slots are open to those at all experience levels.

Sponsor the event. The call for sponsors opens on March 10th at 12:01 a.m. Sponsorship tiers include varying benefits, and each tier includes complimentary tickets. The organizers note that regular ticket revenue does not fully cover event costs, making sponsor participation essential.

Buy a ticket. Tickets become available on March 17th, 2025. The first fifty attendees to purchase will receive an early-bird discounted regular ticket, available until April 15th. A limited number of reduced-price student tickets is also offered.

Practical Details for Attendees

Those traveling to Vienna are encouraged to extend their stay by a day or two.
