Payments takes on orchestration and managed checkout

Stripe now moves more than $1.4 trillion in payments annually, and 73% of global enterprises new to Stripe build checkout with the Optimized Checkout Suite. This year's releases center on expanding that suite, opening up multi-processor control, and layering AI across the payments lifecycle.

Stripe Orchestration and multi-processor setups

Stripe Orchestration is now in preview, letting you manage multiple payment processors from within Stripe with full control and visibility. Radar risk scores can now be pulled via API for use in your own in-house fraud systems or a multi-processor environment. Radar's fraud protection also now covers ACH and SEPA payments, and its dispute prevention—now powered by Ethoca (Mastercard) and Verifi (Visa)—can proactively resolve disputes before they become chargebacks.

For in-person payments, Terminal is being extended to third-party hardware, starting with Verifone. A partnership with FreedomPay lets you pair Stripe's in-person payments with more than 1,000 POS and hardware providers.

Optimized Checkout Suite updates

One-click Klarna payments will soon be available on Link, letting customers add their Klarna account and pay in one click. This summer, Stripe will launch Managed Payments, its merchant-of-record offering, handling global tax compliance, fraud, disputes, checkout, and customer support for Link transactions.

The AI models in the suite now use more than 100 signals to personalize checkout in real time, including which payment methods and fields appear. Stripe supports more than 125 global payment methods, including stablecoins and real-time schemes like Pix and UPI. Adaptive Pricing, which localizes prices in more than 150 markets with no added fees, now works on Elements and the Hosted Invoice Page.

Additional checkout improvements include embedding custom payment methods in the Payment Element, a customizable Embedded Mobile Payment Element for mobile apps, and a new Checkout Sessions API integration path that enables Billing, Tax, or Adaptive Pricing with one line of code.

Payments Intelligence Suite

In preview: Authorization Boost, which uses AI to update cards and tokens, route across networks, and decide when to retry failed payments. Smart Disputes automatically responds to eligible disputes with tailored evidence. Payments analytics now include dispute insights and quantifiable revenue recommendations. Premium and enterprise support plans get AI-powered anomaly alerts that catch unexpected drops in authorization rates with over 90% precision.

Account and currency features

The FX Quotes API lets you display prices in local currencies, lock exchange rates, and review real-time rates and fees. In Stripe Organizations, you can share customers and payment methods across accounts and centrally view and manage disputes.

Revenue suite becomes programmable

More than 300,000 businesses use Stripe Billing, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor, Midjourney, and now NVIDIA. The Revenue suite's biggest update introduces two extensibility primitives: Scripts and Workflows.

Billing and extensibility

Stripe Scripts (preview) extends and customizes billing logic. Workflows lets you build, test, and execute multistep flows that orchestrate across Stripe products using your data, Stripe APIs, and conditional logic. An AI-powered benchmarking tool compares your performance against similar Stripe businesses. Billing also now supports mixed interval subscriptions, consolidated invoice subscriptions, unallocated payments, and partial payments. Stripe Organizations has expanded support for Billing, including financial reports and data warehouse connections across accounts.

Tax goes global

Stripe Tax now provides global registration and filing in one solution, and tax collection covers 102 countries—up from 57 last year. Country- and state-specific rules for shipping-fee tax calculations are supported. New apps from Anrok, Avalara, and Sphere integrate with Billing and Checkout for third-party tax calculation. Tax will soon support additional verticals, including events and ticketing.

Revenue Recognition and data access

New transaction data in Revenue Recognition arrives within three to four hours, enabling same-day book closes. Revenue Recognition support is in preview for all Billing users, including usage-based models, to automate accrual accounting. Sigma data is queryable within three hours and Data Pipeline delivers data within six hours; both now work with Organizations at the account-group level. The Sigma API (preview) exposes your Sigma data and templates via API for custom integrations and automated reporting.

Platform tools get a refresh

Stripe Connect now serves more than 15,000 SaaS platforms, which in turn support over 10 million businesses. New capabilities in this release focus on simplifying platform operations: a redesigned Dashboard for platforms, faster onboarding for users who already have Stripe accounts, and support for turnkey consumer issuing programs.

Key Connect updates:

  • A new version of Radar built specifically for platforms, using AI-based fraud prevention to flag potentially fraudulent accounts, apply custom account-level rules, and provide advanced analytics for risk strategy.
  • Networked onboarding, which lets users with an existing Stripe account join your platform in three clicks.
  • A preview of the new dashboard for platforms, featuring summaries of financial performance and connected account growth, personalized recommendations, and snapshots of restrictions and tasks.
  • The ability to view support cases across all connected accounts and see insights into the top support issues users face.
  • Customers can now pay subscription fees directly from their Stripe balance.
  • The new Accounts v2 API lets you model customers with a single Stripe account across both Stripe Billing and Stripe Connect.
  • New resources and support through the SaaS platform partner ecosystem.

Capital and Issuing

For Capital, two capabilities were previewed: extending financing to businesses that don't process payments on Stripe by integrating third-party data into underwriting via Capital, and offering end-to-end financing through ready-to-use embedded components that can be integrated directly into your platform.

Issuing updates include:

  • A preview of building a turnkey consumer credit card program with Stripe Issuing.
  • More flexibility in Issuing program structure via program management, including maintaining full control of banking relationships or using your own license while Stripe processes transactions.
  • A no-code dashboard for writing complex authorization rules through the Issuing rules engine.
  • New API signals and tools that highlight fraud risk on issuing authorizations and card activity.
  • US platforms can now issue US cards to subsidiaries of multinational customers in more than 40 countries.

Money management overhaul

Stripe announced its largest-ever upgrade to money management, rolling out internet-native, programmable capabilities for storing, sending, and receiving money—including stablecoins—over local rails in multiple currencies. These features will become available by default to all users over the next year.

  • New money management features in the Dashboard let US and UK businesses store and manage money in multiple currencies, convert between them, send and receive via local rails, and create virtual and physical cards.
  • Stablecoin Financial Accounts will soon allow users in over 100 countries to store, receive, and send funds via crypto and fiat rails from a dollar-denominated stablecoin balance.
  • US and UK businesses can send Global Payouts to customers, affiliates, contractors, or other third parties in 58 countries using just an email address.
  • A preview of a USDC-denominated corporate card on the Visa network, powered by Stripe Issuing and Bridge.

Additional announcements

Several other products and programs were also introduced:

  • The Stripe Agents API lets you add financial services to agentic workflows, giving agents the ability to earn, store, and spend funds. The Order Intents API is available to create a commerce agent in seconds.
  • Stripe Profiles, a public identity on the Stripe network, is coming this summer and will streamline invoicing and payments between businesses on Stripe. Users can reserve their profile now.
  • Stripe Verified helps navigate global payment processing requirements with personalized monitoring, enhanced protections, and expert assistance.
  • Sandboxes provide an isolated environment that replicates your business for testing functionality without impacting live integrations.
