Each design in this month’s roundup is available in versions with and without a calendar, and all downloads are free. The themes are entirely the artists’ own — we give everyone full creative freedom to explore ideas and emotions through their work, which is why you’ll see such a varied mix of styles and subjects below.

The monthly wallpaper series has been running for more than 13 years. It’s an open invitation to put your illustration, lettering, or photography skills to the test and share a small artwork with a global audience. May’s Jungle and Kitchen Scenes

May’s wallpaper lineup opens with two very different interpretations of the season. One takes you deep into the Amazon, the other back to the breakfast table.

The illustration uses bright, energetic colors that suit the spring theme.

Hong, Zi-Cing from Taiwan looks at the season through the lens of the traditional East Asian calendar, lighting on Lixia, the 7th solar term. The term signals the start of summer in East Asian cultures and usually runs from around May 5 to May 21.

Elaine Chen, a designer from Toronto, Canada, marks the start of the spring season with "Asparagus Say Hi!"
