Cloudflare Broadens Open Source Sponsorships Beyond Engineering Tools
Since launching its Open Source Software Sponsorships program in 2018, Cloudflare has been gathering community feedback and is now rolling out a revamped version designed to be more inclusive. The most significant change: the program is no longer restricted to engineering-focused projects. Any non-profit, open source initiative is now eligible to apply.

What Projects Qualify
The updated criteria are straightforward. To receive sponsorship, a project must:
- Be open source and operate on a non-profit basis.
- Include a link back to Cloudflare’s home page.
It’s important to note that this program is strictly for project-based support, not for event sponsorships.
What Sponsors Receive
Approved projects gain access to a set of resources intended to help them operate more efficiently:
- A free Cloudflare Pro Plan zone upgrade.
- Access to additional Cloudflare products, subject to approval by the respective product teams.
- Support through the community forums and the Discord server.
Projects interested in applying can submit their details via the application form for review.
