Riding Highway 1: A Test of Stabilization and Tone
Kyle Kingsbury—known online as aphyr—has posted a fresh motorcycle video from Highway 1, just north of San Francisco. The clip features a favorite stretch of roadway, with curves he calls "the crescendo," and it’s set to Jónsi’s track "Kolnidur."
The filming process wasn’t without its quirks. Kingsbury applied virtualdub’s deshaker for vibration stabilization, but suspects the 82% rolling shutter factor is off for 1080p mode—leaving the sky looking a bit wobbly. The color grade comes closer to his target, and he allowed one playful cut leading into the tunnel.
