GitHub Issues beta adds spreadsheet-style planning tools

GitHub is rolling out new beta features for Issues, designed to keep planning in sync with actual development work. The update targets the common pain point where teams abandon rigid project tools for a simple spreadsheet or notepad, only to see those plans fall out of date once disconnected from the codebase.

The beta introduces project tables that mimic spreadsheet behavior, alongside custom fields for tailored tracking. A keyboard-driven command palette speeds up navigation, while improved task lists and issue forms help structure workflows without locking teams into a fixed methodology.

Details and the FAQ are available on the GitHub Issues page.
