A print edition, finally on sale

In April 2017, Stripe launched Increment, a quarterly print and digital magazine focused on how teams build and operate software systems at scale. Since then, the publication has released 11 issues and more than 100 stories, drawing on dozens of editorial contributors and illustrators. Topics have ranged from open-source maintenance and distributed teams to cloud capacity planning and on-call practices, with standout pieces such as Alvaro Videla's look at programming as translation and Glenn Fleishman's deep dive into COBOL's long history.

Until now, physical copies of the magazine have only been available at conferences and events. That changes today: print subscriptions are now available through the Increment store, and readers can also purchase individual issues from the full back catalog.

The announcement comes two and a half years after the first issue, a stretch that saw the editorial team cover mental health in open source, testing in production, and cloud infrastructure planning. For those who have asked for a simpler way to get print copies, the storefront provides both subscription and single-issue options.

Readers with suggestions for future topics or authors are invited to contact the editorial team at [email protected]. Until then, the magazine remains available in both print and digital formats for those who prefer to read on screen or on paper.
