Neo Financial halves infrastructure overhead with a move to Vercel
Neo Financial, a Canadian digital banking provider, has reworked its web delivery stack around Vercel’s frontend cloud in an effort to support rapid growth without burning engineering time on platform maintenance. The company reports a 50% reduction in infrastructure administrative workload after migrating from a custom AWS Fargate and S3-based setup to Vercel.
The shift also brought measurable performance gains. Neo Financial saw a 77% improvement in average page load speed and a 65% reduction in deployment times. The company’s uptime improved by 0.30% as a result of the platform’s global CDN and architecture.
Dropping a self-managed foundation
Neo Financial had initially built its customer portal on Next.js hosted on AWS Fargate with static hosting and S3. That arrangement proved resource-intensive, requiring ongoing attention to keep up with the company’s growth. The team moved to Vercel’s managed service to eliminate the operational burden.
“Vercel is definitely the best infrastructure as a service I've ever used. Not only have they set the bar very high, but they continue to redefine what is possible on the web. It's rare to have a partner that delivers beyond expectations so reliably and consistently.”

Faster rendering and multilingual support
Vercel’s integration with Next.js gave Neo Financial server-side rendering capabilities without extra configuration. That supported SEO and faster content delivery to customers. The company also uses Edge Middleware to handle translation from English to French, serving its Canadian user base directly at the edge.
The rendering and performance gains translate into a smoother experience for users accessing banking information online.
Streamlined previews and release workflow
Vercel’s Preview Deployments, paired with Neo Financial’s Contentful CMS, removed the need for separate staging environments. Multiple teams now test and iterate concurrently, shortening the release cycle. The company can deploy multiple updates per day and react more quickly to market needs while collecting user feedback continuously.
Compliance and growth readiness
Security and compliance are central concerns for a banking app. Vercel provides industry-standard security certifications such as SOC, which addresses data protection requirements for hosting financial services portals.
“Our core business is banking and financial services so now we are able to invest our engineering resources in building features for those users instead of building infrastructure.”

The platform’s scalable infrastructure and CDN allow Neo Financial to maintain consistent experiences across regions during traffic spikes. With infrastructure management offloaded, the engineering team can focus its effort on new product features rather than server upkeep, an important distinction for a company where banking—not web operations—is the core business.
