Two decades of MDN
MDN turned 20 in July 2025, and the Chrome Developer Relations team marked the occasion with a cake at I/O Connect in Berlin. The gesture continues a tradition of browser teams celebrating each other's milestones—this time in honor of a resource that the Chrome team relies on daily.
MDN now hosts more than 14,000 pages of documentation covering web platform features. That breadth makes it a singular reference for developers, and the Chrome team both links to MDN heavily and contributes its own documentation to the site. When Chrome engineers need to look something up while writing code—or writing about code—MDN is where they go.

The MDN team has shared their own retrospective in Celebrating 20 years of MDN, covering the project's evolution from its early days to the sprawling documentation resource it is today.
