Autumn's Quiet Signs

With summer fading, September wallpaper artists often look toward the harvest and the changing of the seasons. The designs below capture that shift with a blend of nature, folklore, and a little humor.

"Listen Closer… The Mushrooms Are Growing" is by Igor Izhik.

Listen Closer… The Mushrooms Are Growing…

The piece is titled "Batmom," designed by Ricardo Gimenes.

Batmom

"Wine Harvest Season" comes from PopArt Studio in Serbia. The artwork depicts the hazy September sunshine over the vines at Fruška Gora, in preparation for making Bermet. This spiced wine was a favorite of the Austro-Hungarian elite and was served on the Titanic. The recipe is a closely guarded family secret in Sremski Karlovci, with only a few producers. The scene also looks over the plains of corn and sunflower fields near Novi Sad.

Seasonal Farewells

As summer winds down, September offers a chance to reflect on the transition—whether that means savoring final warm-weather moments or greeting autumn's first signs. Several designers channeled this seasonal shift into their contributions.

Bear Time

Bojana Stojanovic from Serbia captures the effortless end-of-summer mood.

Maryland Pride

Blue crab season ends with summer in Maryland, a tradition The Hannon Group from Washington DC celebrates. Blue crabs have been a regional staple since the 1700s and anchor the state's most valuable fishing industry, contributing millions to its economy annually. The crustacean was named the State Crustacean in 1989 in recognition of that role.

Nature's Lessons

September's design set also draws from the natural world, both in celebration and as a call to awareness.

Finding Jaguar

PopArt Studio from Serbia dedicates its September calendar to Vedran Badjun from Dalmatia, Croatia, a true nature lover who inspires harmony with the planet. The piece is a reminder that Amazon, Siberia, and every tree or animal are treasures lost daily—a charge to change that.

Penguin Family

Glynnis Owen from Australia admires penguins for their sociability, independence, and resilience through harsh winters—traits her design reflects. The artist notes she loves how they work as a team to care for their offspring.

Early Autumn

Kat Gluszek from Germany treats September as early autumn with a design of trees and leaves—though she keeps summerish colors and style, acknowledging that nobody likes the season's end.

Seasonal Transitions in September Desktop Art

September wallpapers often mark the shift from summer to autumn, and this year’s collection reflects that theme through a variety of interpretations. Designers have approached the seasonal change with everything from reflective farewells to bold cultural tributes. Each wallpaper is available in multiple resolutions, with options both with and without a calendar overlay.

Summer’s Quiet Goodbye

India-based design team Bootstrap Dashboards submitted a wallpaper that captures the bittersweet mood as warm weather fades. The accompanying note reads: “It is inevitable. Summer is leaving silently. Let us think of ways to make the most of what is left of the beloved season.”

Summer Is Leaving

As with all submissions, this design is offered in a range of common display sizes. For those who prefer a clean image, the version without the calendar includes options from 360x640 up to 1920x1080.

A Mexican Cultural Icon for Independence Day

Maria Keller from Mexico looked to her country’s heritage for inspiration: “This month is Mexico’s independence day and I decided to illustrate one of the things Mexico’s best known for: the Lucha Libre.” The result is a vibrant tribute featuring a masked wrestler, a fitting nod to a beloved national tradition.

Viva Mexico

Those wanting a distraction-free background can download the no-calendar variant, which spans more than twenty resolutions, accommodating mobile devices as well as desktop displays up to 2560x1440 and 2880x1800.

Abstract Forms Welcome Fall

Romania’s Advanced Web Ranking contributed a geometric piece aimed squarely at the changing season. The design team described their work simply: “I designed this wallpaper to remind everyone that autumn is here.” The image leans on abstract shapes rather than literal leaves and pumpkins.

Geometric Autumn

The wallpaper ships in eleven sizes for those who prefer no calendar, ranging from 800x600 to the ultra-wide 2560x1440.

A Call to Keep Moving

Designer Ricardo Gimenes from Spain contributed a wallpaper without any seasonal reference. Instead, the motivational piece is titled “Never Stop Exploring” and draws from the spirit of adventure.
