GitHub ¡Presente! brings a Latin America meetup series to the community
GitHub is launching GitHub ¡Presente!, a monthly virtual meetup series aimed at the Latin American developer community. The first session takes place on Tuesday, August 25, at 18:00 BRT (16:00 CDT).
Priscila Heller, from the Enterprise Support team and a member of the Octogatos Employee Resource Group, will host the event. Two GitHub engineers will join her with talks:
- Pedro Lacerda (Enterprise Solutions Engineering) on security.
- Arthur Neves (Software Engineering) on how GitHub uses GitHub internally.
Three guest speakers round out the agenda:
- Felipe de Morais shares his path as a developer and the founding of the AfroPython community.
- Cynthia Zanoni addresses the anxiety of a first GitHub experience and how Womakerscode supports newcomers contributing to open source projects.
- Paulo Silveira demonstrates how non-developers can take advantage of GitHub's functionality.
The organizers have reserved time at the close of the session for networking, giving attendees a chance to connect with GitHub staff and other participants.
