Dropbox Adds path_prefix Support to Java, Ruby, and PHP SDKs

Dropbox has extended the useful /delta endpoint with a new path_prefix parameter, allowing developers to enumerate and track changes for a single specified path rather than an entire account. The company recently added support for this parameter in its Java, Ruby, and PHP SDKs, with other languages to follow.

In PHP, the getDelta method now accepts an optional path_prefix argument, and Ruby's delta method similarly gains an extra optional parameter. For Java developers, Dropbox introduced a new method specifically named getDeltaWithPathPrefix to handle the filtered requests.

Monitoring a Single Path in Java

To use the new functionality in Java, developers can call getDeltaWithPathPrefix, which requires an access token that can be obtained through existing code or the Core API Java tutorial. The change requires minimal modification to existing codebases while enabling more granular change tracking within Dropbox.
