A Change of Season for Your Desktop

As many parts of the world trade bright skies for November's characteristic gray, Smashing Magazine's monthly wallpaper collection returns to add some color back to your screens. This edition brings together original artwork from community designers worldwide, all available at no cost in a range of common display resolutions.

The selection continues a tradition now spanning more than 14 years. In addition to the latest designs from contributors, this month's archive includes a few older favorites from past collections, giving long-time readers a chance to rediscover a wallp Paper they may have missed.

The November Lineup

Each wallpaper below is paired with a short description of the creative intent behind it, written by the designer. Downloads are split into two sets: one with a monthly calendar overlay and one without. Both cover resolutions from small mobile screens up to 2560x1440. The contributing artists work without creative constraints — Smashing Magazine does not direct the themes, allowing each creator full freedom in their visual approach.

Ricardo Gimenes of Spain offers a moodier take on the season. The Secret Cave pairs a fiery sky with a quiet interior, and is available in both calendar and no-calendar variants.

The design takes its cue from autumn in full swing — earthy tones, falling leaves and warm afternoons — while drawing attention to Pura Ulun Danu Bratan in Bali.
