A Closer Look at the DBX Platform Developer Community

With more than 500,000 developers building on the DBX Platform, Dropbox is expanding the ways that community members can connect, share knowledge, and get support. The company is placing a larger emphasis on in-person events and online spaces where developers can interact with each other and with Dropbox engineers.

Developer Meetups

Dropbox continues to host in-person Developer Meetups, where attendees can meet the team, hear about platform updates, and learn from their peers. Past events in San Francisco and New York City have been recapped on the official blog, and the schedule is expected to grow to other locations. Developers who want to suggest a future city can fill out a form, while meetup announcements will be posted on the blog and the @dropboxapi Twitter account.

Developers and API Forum

For ongoing conversation and technical help, the Developers and API forum serves as the central online hub. The API Support and Feedback section provides direct assistance from Dropbox and the community on specific integration issues, alongside a channel for product feedback and feature requests. A newly added General Discussion page covers everything else: API announcements, code samples, startup brainstorming, and development tips. Developers are encouraged to participate actively by answering questions and posting content that supports other members.

DBX Platform Super User Program

Dropbox has launched the DBX Platform Super User Program to recognize the most engaged and helpful API developers. The goal is to identify passionate users who consistently add high-value material to the Developers and API forum, including code samples, project write-ups, answers to fellow developers' questions, and guides with practical tips. In return, Super Users receive perks that scale with their involvement, such as extra Dropbox storage, branded swag, specialized training, early access to content, and direct lines to the Dropbox team. Full expectations and reward details are outlined in the forum announcement, where questions and feedback can also be posted.

Applications are open via a dedicated form, and the Dropbox team will review submissions and follow up as needed.
