A Droid owner is reporting a strange power failure that left his phone completely unresponsive, even after swapping in a fresh battery. The device, left with an 80% charge, refused to power on an hour later. Only after being plugged in the next morning did it boot up—and it showed a 75% charge, suggesting the power issue was not a simple drain.
At the Verizon store, the diagnosis was less than helpful. Staff claimed the problem was too many installed apps and advised using a task killer frequently—a solution that does not explain how a phone can recharge to 70% in seconds. They also denied knowledge of the known autofocus bug, though the camera has since been focusing in under two minutes, hinting at a silent fix.
Despite these issues, the owner remains largely satisfied. The Droid's UI is said to be the most responsive of all phones tested, including the iPhone. Software oversights, such as the inability to move emails between folders, are noted, but the experience is characterized as solid overall.
